We will work as a team to provide you with the highest quality of both eye health and vision care for life. Advanced Technology At EyeCare Focus we are constantly searching for new technologies to bring you the best in eyecare. New instruments allow us to accurately and rapidly diagnose eye diseases. Early treatment is critical to prevent potentially blinding ocular conditions. Ocular Coherence Tomography Ocular Coherence Tomography or OCT is an advanced computerized scan used for imaging and analysis of the internal eye structures. The OCT is considered to be the most important and advanced technology for detection and management of eye diseases, especially macular degeneration and glaucoma. This instrument allows us to obtain an early correct diagnosis and develop a specialized treatment plan.
Digital Retinal Photography Digital retinal photography allows us to obtain a high resolution image of the internal and external eye. This is important to obtain a baseline photograph and follow changes as they occur. Our retinal imaging camera allows us to take a 3-dimensional picture so we can document bends and curves in blood vessels as well as nerves.
Corneal Topography Corneal topography allows us to see a detailed map of the front surface of the eye. This information allows us to correct astigmatism, monitor corneal disease and detect irregularities such as keratoconus that cause blurred vision. Corneal topography also allows us to fit a wide range of specialty lenses for those “hard to fit patients.
Optical Department Our optical dispensary is made up of our doctors, our highly trained technicians and top-quality hand picked labs. We offer the latest technology when it comes to your lenses, and a variety of fashionable frames. We can provide you with the lightest and thinnest lenses on the market to make you look and feel great. Our technicians will work with you and your glasses to adjust them to fit comfortably. We offer a free two-year warranty on most of our lenses and frames and have tools in our dispensary to repair them when those little accidents happen. We also keep a large stock of lenses so we can make some prescriptions same day.
Contact Lenses Our office specializes in contact lens wear. We fit our patients with the most beneficial lenses based on their individual needs. Contacts have improved drastically within the last few years and we can now provide vision correction with contact lenses for more sensitive eye problems. Theses sensitive eye problems may include presbyopia (requiring bifocal contacts), monovision, astigmatism, dry eyes and various others. We fit both gas permeable and soft lenses that offer an array of advantages to the individual wearer. The improvements in technology also allow us to fit lenses that provide optimal amounts of oxygen to the cornea to protect the health of your eyes and at the same time allow extended wear. We will work with each individual to provide you with a lens that is best for you and the health of your eyes. Please Contact our office if you are interested in a contact lens evaluation and a pair of free diagnostic lenses. Preoperative and Postoperative Care We offer co-managed care and referrals to our patients. We respect the needs of each individual in our care. If we feel that there is a need for additional evaluation, care or surgery, we will make a referral. We only make referrals to doctors who we feel are able to meet your specialized needs with the highest standards of practice and patient care. The most common situations in our office that require preoperative, postoperative, or referral care are glaucoma patients, cataract patients, and potential LASIK candidates. Our goal is to provide individuals with excellent vision. If we feel that the quality of a patients’ vision could be improved by other measures we will most definitely refer them to a specialist. However, we will strive to stay updated and involved in our patients’ care.
Vision Therapy When we examine an individual who is complaining about eyestrain and discomfort associated with reading, we do much more than just examine the health of the eye to decide whether eyeglasses are necessary. Skills, such as tracking, focusing and eye teaming, must also be assessed. This evaluation is referred to as a visual efficiency examination. Our doctors are fully trained to evaluate and manage common conditions that cause eye strain, headaches and double vision. We work closely with you or your child to ensure their eyes are working together as a team. It is important that we evaluate all aspects of vision, as over 80% of learning is done through sight. Both children and adults can benefit from vision therapy. Adequate visual skills are necessary for success with reading, learning and school performance. Over 70% of classroom information is presented in a visual format and must be processed by a student’s visual system. Well-developed visual skills enhance a student’s ability to learn, and poor skills can severely hinder the learning process. |
